Friday again!

What a wonderful day Friday is. I think it's my favorite. Yes, we still have work and school, but it's filled with the promise of a fun weekend, and knowing that in just x hours you're free. Sometimes that's better than actually being free. (I know we have a tendency to feel like we wasted most weekends.)

Today is especially nice because our fine friend the bald eagle has returned to the lake! Yay spring-like weather! I even did some weeding the other day before it rained. It was wonderful!

Yesterday I read the 3rd book of the Midnighters series by Scott Westerfeld. I did NOT like that ending! I won't say anything, in case anyone wants to read it, but it didn't give me the happy closure I NEED when reading a book. So that left me a little bummed. Now on to a new series, Yes, I've succumbed. I think every lady out there is reading these. Can you guess? Yes, Twilight. I'm hoping I'll like them...I do love vampires! Speaking of which, has anyone not read Bram Stoker's Dracula? You must! I don't think I could love a book more...

Yay! O yay, yay, yay! I'm so glad it's Friday! And the sun is out! And I'm in a good mood for the second day straight!

Have I mentioned I've been sick for the past 2 weeks? It started out as a rather big cough...for about a week, with nothing else. Very odd. But now it's a little more like a regular cold...kind of. Needless to say, I'm ready for it to leave now!

Last night my husband gave the kids ropes to play with. They've been dragging them around for hours since. By the end of the weekend my eardrums will be bleeding (and my voice hoarse from asking them to quiet down), the bottoms of the furniture and walls will have a notch in them, and the cat will collapse. But they're having tons of fun! ;)

I'm back!

At least for a little bit anyway! I don't actually know why I left in the first place. I think life was getting hectic and I needed to simplify. Yes, that's it!

Okay, so did anyone watch the last Monk episode...Abra caDorfman? Guess what? I talk like that Dorfman guy does! *head hanging...lips pouting* Well, not to such an extreme, but I looked at my husband and said, "I do that!" And he smiled and said, "I was just thinking the same thing!" Alrighty then...and I wonder why I can't seem to make any friends!! I think it's obvious...I'm a kind, considerate FREAK! :)

Oh well, so be it! I guess that's just what happens to a person when they have almost no one but themselves to talk to for what? 10 years, slightly more. Although, I have had kids for the last 6 years...but does that really count? I think not...

Actually, speaking of talking to my husband, I might as well talk to the cat! He doesn't acknowledge me when I speak. No eye contact, no 'mm,hmm,' nothing! Sometimes he doesn't even answer posed questions. Yet he swears he was listening! He also has a habit of answering 'choice questions' with a yes or no. (eg. Do you want to go now or later? Yes. So I have to ask which one he said yes to....and he doesn't get it! Does that sound like someone who's listening?)

Okay, so now I'm crying! That's just how I've been lately, feeling sorry for myself and all. It must be really painful for a person to talk to me. Sad part is that I enjoy talking to people.

Okay, I'm going to go talk to the cat.
